Baucus Gets Commitment for Tester Seat on Appropriations Committee

Gov. Brian Schweitzer and U.S. Sen. Candidate Jon Tester joined Montana’s senior U.S. Senator Max Baucus at a press conference where Baucus released a statement from Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) saying if elected Tester will have Reid’s support for a seat on the Senate Appropriations Committee.

Harry Reid of Nevada:  Washington, DC—Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid today issued the following statement: "I will work very hard with Max Baucus to get Jon Tester on the Senate Appropriations Committee as soon as possible.  Jon Tester is a man of integrity and a man that I look forward to working closely with in the United States Senate.  Jon has proven to be a great leader in Montana and I know he will bring his values of hard work and honesty to Washington."
